USING "THERE IS" AND "THERE ARE", DESCRIBE HOW MANY CLASSROOM OBJECTS YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES.

(Usando "There is" y "There are", describe cuántos útiles de clase ves en las figuras) 

No te preocupes por útiles que no conoces su nombre en inglés. Sólo describe los que sí conoces.

Example: THERE IS ONE BLUE BACKPACK.

Escribe 4 enunciados. 

Picture 2

Example: THERE ARE TEN CLIPS.

Escribe 3 enunciados.

LET´S REVIEW (Repasemos)

1. HOW MANY (pencils) ARE THERE? (la palabra entre paréntesis puede ser otra)

Para nosotros, esto es: ¿cuántos lápices hay?

2. HOW MANY (pens) ARE THERE? 

Y aquí, esto sería "¿cuántas lapiceras hay?

Recordemos que en inglés sólo utilizamos el signo de interrogación AL FINAL DEL ENUNCIADO.

Ahora bien, para ambas preguntas, las respuestas posibles son dos:

1. THERE IS ONE (pencil) 

    THERE ARE THREE (pencils)

2. THERE IS ONE (pen)

    THERE ARE FIVE (pens)

Las palabras "pencil - pencils - pen - pens" pueden decirse/escribirse o no, por eso están entre paréntesis. Como vemos, si hay UN SOLO objeto, respondemos con THERE IS. Pero si hay más de uno, respondemos con THERE ARE. Excepto en el caso de las tijeras donde si hay una o más de una, siempre responderemos con THERE ARE. La pregunta no varía, es siempre igual: HOW MANY (objeto) ARE THERE?

LOOK AT THE PICTURE OF CLASSROOM OBJECTS. PLEASE, CHOOSE 3, AND WRITE THE QUESTION AND THE ANSWER IN SINGULAR AND PLURAL. 

(Mira la lámina de objetos de clase. Por favor, elige 3 y escribe la pregunta y la respuesta en singular y en plural)

Antes de realizar la tarea, hagamos un repaso:

La pregunta "What´s this?", la utilizamos cuando queremos preguntar por un solo objeto (SINGULAR) Su respuesta es "It´s a....."

La pregunta "What are they?", la utilizamos cuando queremos preguntar por más de un objeto, pueden ser 2 o 2000 (PLURAL) Su respuesta es "They´re .....".

For example:

SINGULAR                                               PLURAL
What´s this?                                                What are they?
It´s a yellow pencil.                                     They´re yellow pencils.

2. Read the conversation and then write a similar one

Yanela: Hi! What´s your name?

Ana: My name is Ana.

Yanela: What is it?

Ana: It´s a green and white backpack

3. For each picture, draw what the sentence says 

(Para cada figura, dibuja lo que dice la oración)

2. Red rulers

3. A blue chair

4. Yellow crayons

(Al hacerlo en el cuaderno, no es necesario que dibujen los escritorios y sillas por cada figura. Sólo dibujen lo que dicen las oraciones. Publiqué la foto porque es de la forma que aparece en el libro)
